Relationship abuse is a pattern of abusive behaviors used to maintain power and control over a former or current intimate partner. Abuse can be emotional, financial, sexual or physical and can include threats, isolation, and intimidation. Abuse tends to escalate over time. When someone uses abuse and violence against a partner, it is always part of a larger pattern of control.
Over time, people have been abused in several relationships and research has shown women being the abused partner and men being the abuser most of the time and then sometimes it can be the other way around.
Relationship Abuse is not a rare occurrence, worldwide even in the U.S,it is shown that a man will commit relationship Abuse against one in three women. Nothing can excuse a perpetrator abusing another human but sometimes the other person is mostly to be blamed because they give room for the perpetrator to abuse them.
